The song title was on a list of song titles I keep in my rather large Google doc of notes, ideas, songs, riffs, etc. I didn’t really have a story around it or anything but challenged myself to write a song with that title. What we got is a song about people coming in and out of your orbit and what to say instead of “goodbye”.
The cover art is by Stephanie Witchger (@stephwitchger ). Super grateful she let me turn her awesome artwork into a greeting card of sorts for “Take Care”. You should absolutely go check out her artwork, it’s outstanding.

Lyrics:
Lately you’ve been running on fumes
And you keep holding on, squeeze a little tighter
If this is the end, I’ll savor it my friend
And the last words I heard from you amounted to
Please, take care of yourself
I hope you’ll find some peace of mind and
Maybe this place will make you smile sometime
Don’t forget where you came from
And maybe our paths will cross someday but until then
Please, take care of yourself
Please, take care of yourself
All the right words are hard to find
I can ramble if you don’t mind
May be this will last a little longer
Before we part ways and say
Please, take care of yourself
Please, take care of yourself
Please, take care of yourself
